2018 – The Year in Pictures

In keeping with the tradition that Jim Goldstein started over 10 years ago, I’ve selected a few of my favorite images released in the past year. These are not necessarily my best or most popular, but each captures a special moment in time that defines the location or event I experienced when I tripped the shutter.

Please enjoy and feel free to let me know your favorites. You can click on any image for a large view, to learn more about it, or share individually. I look forward to seeing your selects in the weeks ahead. And wish everyone a wonderful holiday season and Happy New Year full of adventure, natural beauty and photographic rewards.

    1. Thank you, Richard! You’ll love Canyon de Chelly – it’s culturally rich and still retains its remote and wild feeling.

  1. Russ, I love the range of colors in this collection, from black and white to the vibrant colors of sunset and fields of flowers. It’s difficult to pick a favorite, but I lean towards Windstone Arch for its inviting warmth, creating an urge to explore. I wish you all the best throughout the year.

  2. Great selection of images Russ! I think my favorite is the Na Pali Coast shot. Were you in a helicopter or did you use a drone? I see you wen to NZ which is one of my favorite countries and as you know such a great place to shoot landscapes.
